AdvancedMD Fall 2025 Release Summary

AdvancedMD Fall 2025 Release Summary

The AdvancedMD Fall 2025 release includes a number of updates and enhancements across the Practice Management, Electronic Health Records, and Patient Engagement modules. These updates are designed to improve functionality and user workflows.

The features will be deployed in waves on October 7, 16, and 23.

Practice Management Updates

  • AdvancedMD Pay Refund Enhancements: A new refund button replaces the previous void process for credit card payments. This function supports refunds for payments that have been split across multiple visits or have been archived. Users can track if the refund was issued via cash, check, or credit card.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO): The platform now integrates with SAML-based Identity Providers, such as Microsoft® Entra ID. This allows users to use their existing SSO credentials to access the AdvancedMD platform and mobile app.
  • Enhanced Copay Management: The system now allows for different copay amounts to be assigned by appointment type category (e.g., Medicare, Telehealth). This ensures the correct amount is applied during the scheduling and billing processes.
  • New Report: Claim Inspector Errors Found Detail: This new standard report is designed to provide users with more visibility into claim error details, helping to identify and resolve issues more efficiently.
  • Claims Center Provider Filters: A provider filter has been added to the Claim Inspector and Exclusions tabs within the Claims Center, allowing users to manage claims by a specific provider.
  • Link Unapplied Payments to Visit: When an insurance payment is un-applied, the corresponding visit number and EOB link will now remain linked to the payment to preserve data relationships.
  • Facility NPI per Carrier: Users can now assign unique Facility NPIs by carrier or carrier category. This is intended to streamline claim submissions for specialties that require carrier-specific identifiers.
  • Patient Contact Card Update: Emergency contacts and next-of-kin information can now be viewed and edited directly from the patient demographic dashboard.
  • Patient Demographics Enhancements: The demographics dashboard has been updated for improved organization of patient information. Patient cards will also save in the user’s preferred order.
  • Enhanced Cancel & No-show Automation: The Calculation Fee Window setting has been updated to allow for the exclusion of Saturdays and Sundays when applying fees for canceled or no-show appointments.
  • In-Application Service Requests: Forms have been added to the application so users can directly request add-on features, professional services, or implementation training.

Electronic Health Records Updates

  • AI-Powered Pre-Visit Summary: This feature uses AI to generate a summary of a patient’s recent medical history, including notes, labs, medications, allergies, and risk factors. The summary is available for providers to review prior to a patient’s appointment.
  • ePrescribing Pro Package Enhancements: New functionality has been added, including compound prescribing, a weight-based calculator, duplicate therapy notifications, drug/image imprint information, and Google Maps for pharmacy locations.
  • EHR Launch for FHIR Smart Apps: The system now supports the launching of SMART on FHIR applications from within a patient’s chart, allowing for the integration of third-party clinical applications.
  • New Mental Health Templates: A new collection of mental health and behavioral health assessments, scorecards, tools, and questionnaires has been added to the Template Library.

Patient Engagement Updates

  • AI Upload of Patient Insurance Cards: A new worklist is available to view insurance cards uploaded by patients. When images are scanned and imported, an AI feature can prepopulate the insurance details for staff to review and save to the patient’s chart.
  • Provider Patient Load and Availability: The Scheduler has been enhanced to provide visibility into provider availability and patient load percentages, with customizable settings to assist with schedule management.
