The Silent Insurer Alarm
If your biggest insurer went quiet today, when would you know?
The rhythm would have rung on day 0, with $0 waiting.
A quiet insurer refuses nothing, so the denial report stays clean. The aging report, the list of unpaid claims sorted by age, catches up a month or two later. The rhythm, meaning the usual days between that insurer’s deposits, catches it in the second week.
Slide your own numbers in. The starting values are an example. Watch the fuse.
Find this insurer’s rhythm in ten minutes
Pull six months of bank deposits and sort them by insurer. For your top five, write down two numbers each: the usual days between deposits, and the usual size of one. Both are already in the bank statement and the payment reports you keep.
Then each morning, put days since the last deposit next to the usual gap. An insurer inside its gap is fine. An insurer well past it goes on a short list, with one name next to it. Size and form can break too: payments that keep coming but smaller, or that switch from direct deposit to paper checks. Those are the next two checks.
