This is a summary of the AdvancedMD Winter 2026 release, rolling out to users on February 4, 13, and 20. The release centers on a new card-based framework and added automation across clinical and administrative work. Below is every feature, grouped by area, with a plain description of what each one does.
If you only have time to look at a few, the ones that affect cash and retention most are the new Lost Patients and Profitability reports, the mass write-off based on allowed or expected amounts, and the telehealth credit-card-on-file requirement.
Practice management
Card-based demographics framework. The patient demographics and responsible party screens have been rebuilt on a card-based layout, with primary cards for the summary and mini-cards for detail, and the structure is built to hold future data like patient pronouns. The Scheduler Quick Add has also been updated for faster entry of new patient and responsible party records.
Provider billing ID controls. Administrators can set start and end dates on billing ID exceptions, so past, current, and future exceptions track automatically by carrier or facility. All Professional Provider System Settings are now in one location.
Batch provider requests. A new Application Services module lets you bundle multiple providers into a single request, get one quote, and approve the whole batch at once.
Chargeback alerts. AdvancedMD Pay now sends in-app notifications for credit card alerts, aimed at managing chargebacks.
New and updated reports. The Report Center adds specialized Lost Patients and Profitability reports, plus new filters in the Transaction Entry report including Next Appointment on standard receipts.
Mass write-off by allowed or expected amount. The mass write-off now supports partial write-offs based on allowed or expected amounts, which replaces the manual version of this work.
Export processed card data to CSV. A new export button in the patient billing window lets you download processed credit card data straight to CSV.
Enhanced Scheduler, beta. A performance update adds custom color-coding for appointments and holds, better time zone logic, and new cards for direct demographic updates.
Patient Merge, beta. A new utility combines the Practice Management and EHR data from two duplicate records into one master file.
Electronic health records
Clinical notes AutoSave. The EHR now saves clinical notes in real time, which protects documentation during a patient encounter.
Bright Futures pediatric content. AdvancedMD has added Bright Futures standards through a partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics, including licensed intake forms, clinical templates, and family handouts for patients from birth through young adulthood.
Annotation and message visibility. Dashboard worklists now show annotations and messages linked to chart items more clearly.
Lab result linking. Lab results are linked automatically to their original orders, with lab PDFs connected to the timeline or the Documents Card.
Updated document exchange. The Outbound CIE Document (C-CDA) now meets HTI-1 and USCDI version 3 standards for data exchange.
Consolidated Renewal Card. Prescription renewal and change requests are now handled from one Renewal Card, reachable from the pharmacy donut or the patient chart. It adds hover-over pharmacy instructions, Last Fill and Sold Date in the Medications List, a single-button sign and eSend, an All for Date checkbox to send every prescription written that day at once, and clearer electronic prior authorization status.
Narrative Editor, beta. A new HTML rich text editor for patient note narratives replaces Word Merge and keeps header and footer information consistent across document templates.
Patient engagement and mobile
Telehealth virtual waiting room. Zoom telehealth now has a virtual waiting room where patients can join up to 60 minutes early to test their camera and microphone, with the provider prompted to admit them once the session starts.
Telehealth payment controls. Telehealth front-desk workflows can now require a credit card on file and assign flat fees by appointment type, with a worklist to track insurance card images patients upload.
Online statement controls. A new system default lets administrators turn online statements on or off before the feature goes live.
Provider matching update. Provider Matching logic now aligns with Online Scheduling for more accurate hold-time generation.
Telehealth pre-call chat on mobile. The telehealth pre-call chat is now in the Provider List View in the Clinical App scheduler, so providers can answer patient questions for upcoming telehealth appointments in real time.
