The Winter 2026 release for AdvancedMD introduces a tiered rollout scheduled for February 4, 13, and 20. This update focuses on infrastructure modernization through a new card-based framework and significant automation enhancements across clinical and administrative workflows.
Practice Management
Modernized Data Framework
The core patient demographics and responsible party interfaces have been redesigned using a new card-based architecture. This layout provides a more intuitive experience by utilizing primary cards for high-level summaries and mini-cards for deep-dive details. This structural change is designed to accommodate future data requirements, such as patient pronouns. Additionally, the Scheduler Quick Add tool has been optimized to allow for faster and more efficient entry of new patient and responsible party records.
Provider Administration and Billing Efficiency
Management of provider billing IDs now includes enhanced temporal controls. Administrators can assign specific start and end dates to billing ID exceptions, allowing for the automated tracking of past, current, and future exceptions by carrier or facility. To simplify configuration, all Professional Provider System Settings have been consolidated into a single, centralized location.
Financial Operations and Automated Reconciliation
The new Application Services module enables the batch processing of provider requests. Organizations can bundle multiple providers into a single request, receive a unified quote, and approve the entire batch at once. Financial management is further supported by in-app notifications for AdvancedMD Pay credit card alerts, specifically for managing chargebacks.
The Report Center and financial tools have received the following updates:
- New specialized reports for Lost Patients and Profitability.
- Added filters in the Transaction Entry report, including “Next Appointment” on standard receipts.
- The mass write-off tool now supports partial write-offs based on allowed or expected amounts, replacing previous manual efforts.
- A new export button in the patient billing window allows for the immediate download of processed credit card data into CSV format.
Practice Management Beta Features
- Enhanced Scheduler: A performance-focused update featuring custom color-coding for appointments and holds, improved time zone logic, and new cards for direct demographic updates.
- Patient Merge: A utility designed to combine Practice Management and EHR data from two duplicate records into a single master file.
Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Clinical Documentation and Specialized Content
The EHR now includes a real-time AutoSave feature for clinical notes to safeguard documentation during patient encounters. For pediatric care, AdvancedMD has integrated Bright Futures standards in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics. This includes licensed intake forms, clinical templates, and family handouts for patients from birth through young adulthood.
Workflow Optimization and Interoperability
Dashboard worklists now provide better visibility for annotations and messages linked to chart items. Lab results are more efficiently organized through automatic linking to original orders, with lab PDFs connected directly to the timeline or the Documents Card. Furthermore, the Outbound CIE Document (C-CDA) has been updated to meet HTI-1 and USCDI version 3 standards for improved data exchange.
Prescription and Medication Management
The renewal and change request processes have been consolidated into a centralized Renewal Card accessible from the pharmacy donut or patient chart. Key improvements include:
- Hover-over visibility for pharmacy instructions and directions.
- Display of “Last Fill” and “Sold Date” directly within the Medications List.
- A single-button workflow for signing and eSending prescriptions.
- An “All for Date” checkbox to sign and send all prescriptions written that day with one click.
- Enhanced visibility of electronic prior authorization (ePA) statuses.
EHR Beta Feature: Narrative Editor
A new HTML-based rich text editor is being introduced to simplify the management of patient note narratives. This editor replaces the need for Word Merge and ensures consistent header and footer information across all document templates.
Patient Engagement and Mobile
Telehealth and Virtual Intake
Zoom telehealth integration now features a virtual waiting room. Patients can join up to 60 minutes early to test their camera and microphone, with providers receiving a prompt to admit them once the session starts. Front-desk workflows for telehealth now support requiring a credit card on file and assigning flat fees based on appointment types. A specialized worklist has also been added to track insurance card images uploaded by patients.
System Controls and Logic Updates
A new system default allows administrators to activate or deactivate online statements before the feature goes live. Additionally, Provider Matching logic has been updated to align with Online Scheduling for more accurate hold-time generation.
Mobile: AdvancedMD Clinical App
The telehealth pre-call chat feature is now accessible from the Provider List View in the scheduler within the Clinical App. This enables providers to respond to patient inquiries for upcoming telehealth appointments in real-time.
